Common Questions

  • Why do I need to take this?
If you did not already earn math college credit from a college or university (not AP/IB) you will need to take this to determine your math level and first math course at Pacific. It is a requirement for all incoming first year students.

  • What if I took a math AP/IB test?
There’s an option to indicate that on the assessment.

  • Do I need to study?
No, but you are welcome to do a brief refresher on khanacademy.org/math

  • Do I need to take Calculus?
It depends on your major.  After completing the assessment and reviewing your math placement level, you may refer to the Advising Handbook and the requirements for your intended major(s).  Write down a list of questions to ask your advisor when you meet with them later this summer.
